If you are hunting for absolute legends in Forza Horizon 6, the 1998 Nissan R390 (GT1) should be right at the top of your list. This mid-engine masterpiece is a holy grail for JDM enthusiasts and racing fans alike, but you can’t just buy it off the showroom floor or stumble across it randomly. It’s locked behind a Barn Find, meaning you have to put in a bit of specific legwork to add it to your garage.
If you try to drive straight to the location before triggering the event, the barn will stay locked up tight, and the car won’t appear. To cut down the grind and get your hands on this homologation special as fast as possible, just follow this straightforward three-step route.
Step 1: Reach Level 6 “Adventurer” Stamp
The very first goal is triggering the Barn Find rumor itself. This is tied directly to your campaign progression in the “Discover Japan” ranks. You need to push your rank until you unlock Level 6: Adventurer, which is the Purple Stamp level. The second you hit this milestone, the rumor pops, and the search circle appears on your map.
If you want to speedrun this requirement, focus on these activities:
The Fast Track (Story Missions): Knocking out Story Missions is by far the quickest way to stack up points. Keep an eye out for the yellow map icons and clear them first.
Alternative XP Gains: If you want to mix things up, you can supplement your progression by jumping into road races, tearing up Touge runs, smashing regional mascots, leveling up your food delivery rank, or purchasing player houses around the map.
Step 2: Navigate to the Barn Location
Once the purple search circle drops, grab a solid, fast off-road vehicle—you are going to need to head off the asphalt for the final stretch. Drive down to the Ohtani region, located in the southwest corner of the map right near the border of Shimanoyama.
Here is the exact path to save you from aimless driving:
1.Find the Trailblazer Gate:Ohtani Border.
Locate the Bridge Underpasses Trailblazer gate on your map and head straight there.
2.Spot the Dirt Path:Look Left.
When you pull up to the Trailblazer gate, look directly to its left. You will see an off-road dirt path flanked by two white signs.
3.Follow the Track:Up the Hill.
Turn onto this dirt track and drive all the way up the hill. The path cuts right through the northeastern edge of your map’s search zone and leads you directly to the hidden barn doors.
Step 3: Deal with the Restoration Wait Time
Pulling up to the barn triggers the classic cutscene, and the classic supercar will be hauled off for a full restoration. From here, you have two choices depending on how many credits you are sitting on:
The Patient (Free) Route: This is highly recommended. Just go back to playing the game normally. Run a handful of standard races, explore the map, and before you know it, you will get a notification that the car is sparkling clean and waiting in your garage for absolutely zero cost.
The Instant Route: If you are absolutely swimming in cash and can’t wait another minute, you can head into the Barn Finds menu and pay a hefty fee to bypass the restoration timer instantly. Most players consider this a massive waste of hard-earned in-game credits, but the option is there if you are impatient.
